HO / 4-4-0 stalling
March 27, 2017, 10:27:04 AM
My Spectrum 4-4-0 recently started stalling and running hesitantly through turnouts. Any ideas why? I use Atlas manual turnouts.

HO / dcc on board

When a bachman 0-6-0t has dcc on board, does this mean it already has a decoder,  or just the hookup to install one?

HO / SEPTA PCC

I have a few older septa pcc cars. The boxes are all marked 41-629-C1. Some have a motor man in the front window,  and some don't. Is one of these more rare than the other?

HO / DCC Cable

I have an MRC Prodigy express. The plastic clips on the ends have broken off, so the cables no longer stay in place.  Would a standard Cat5 cable work for this?

How do I do a factory reset on this loco? I bought it about a year ago and have tried programming it numerous times with no luck. It ran one time, and since then, it has been a major frustation. I'm soon ready to pitch this thing in the garbage and go back to dc. Dcc has NOT been a user friendly experience.  >:(

I have a new spectrum 4-4-0 with dcc and sound. I am brand new to dcc and am having an issue with this locomotive. I have a Prodigy Express cab unit.

My issue is my one other loco works on my layout, and when I initially programmed this one, it was working perfectly fine except when it was rounding a curve, the coupler trip pins were touching the rail and causing sparks. I immediately stopped the loco and trimmed the pins back a little so the wouldn't touch anymore. Since doing this, all the F funtions work except the headlight. When I start to throttle up, the sound of a moving loco is present and increases in intensity with more throttle, but now the loco does not move in either direction. My other loco runs fine, so everything is alright with the system and track. I have already tried deleting the loco from my cab and reprogramming, with no luck. Can someone please help me with this? Thank you in advance.

Does Bachman have any plans to produce an unlettered version of its 2-6-0 with dcc/sound?

HO / DCC vs DC
November 23, 2008, 01:21:55 PM
I have just purchased a Russian Decapod that is DCC ready. On the FAQ's on this site, it says I can run DCC ready equipment on a standard DC setup. My problem is that the loco will not run, and my power pack just hums as if there was a short circuit applied to the track. What do I need to do to operate this loco. Am I missing something?
