G'day All
As the proud new owner of a W.P.& Y.R. starter set, plus a few extra bits of rolling stock, Lake Tutshi Coach, #9 Tank Car, 903 Bobber Caboose, and an unlettered Porter 0-4-0T Loco which will be the subject of my first attempt at customising to make it a WP&YR loco, some of the questions on other threads have me wondering.
Does anyone have a list of all the WP&YR rolling stock that Bachmann have produced over the years? How do you find all this stuff? I know what is currently available, but I do not have the time to search through E Bay every day, as I still have to work to finance my hobbies....
Thanks
Garry
You can put it in a search, that when it grts a hit will email you to let you know to look. No wasted time that way, it is fast and simple. Go to Bachamnn then WP&Y spelled out and initials. I have posted a list of all the BachamnnWP&y items in another post. Do a search on Loco Bill and you will find it.

Howdy, Bill !
Do you do this stuff for fun ? :D
Seriously, glad you are our (or "r,r" as they say in central PA !) resident historian, now that we no longer hear from the Old Curmudgeon !
Best Wishes,
Jack
Hello back, Jack
Yes I do it for fun, got started when I realized no one could tell me which Big Hauler 4-6-0's had version 5 chassis, since I wanted to bid on them on Ebay. It evolved from there and I started building detailed databases and set lists. In 1998 I learned about Wade Colyer who was doing the same thing. We have become great friends over the years and help each other out keeping up to date.
Wade actually collects all 1:22.5 items, and has nalmost every item except the very latest . I wrothe a book about Bachmann G Scale and tried to get it published but have never had any luck. The narrative is out of date now, because of my poor eyesight, but I have kept up all the databases so far.
Everytime Wade & I thinks we know it all we get a suprise or two which makes it fun.
It is also fun to get asked questions by Bachmann Industries about their own Products. They have tried to be helpful, but their records are not very complete.
All in all, I have met a lot of neat folks doing this project, it also helps to be a,little LOCO pun intended.
Cheers
Bill
Hi there Bill,
I was given a used set many years ago but the gearbox makes a fairly noticable whining noise so I don't run it anymore. The set No is 80015 - Rio Grande Southern.
Can you tell me the year it was made and the type of Chassis. This set was my introduction to Large Scale, I was an HO modeller before, but now I'm keeping as much as possible to 1/24th, which is correct for our 3ft 6in gauge here in New Zealand.
Keep up the good work
Dave

Hello Dave,
I'm sure you meant 90015
90015 Rocky Mountain Express, Rio Grande Southern was one of the fiirst set put out by Bachmann Industries. I was made starting in 1989 and remained in the catalog until 1992. The locomotive should have the number 25. This had the Version 2 chassis which overall was not very reliable. It was the first track powered chassis.
In 2002 Bachmann released Item 81094 Aniversary 4-6-0, Also Rio Grande Southern which has the version 5 chassis. They did not change the number so it is also 25.
It stayed in the catalog until 2007, so you may be able to purchase one.
It would make a great replacement!!
Thanks for the Info Bill. I purchased an Annie in 2006 and it looks and runs beautiful. It needs a bit of extra weight added to climb my 3% grades but overall it does well.
Regards
Dave
G'day Loco Bill
Thanks for the info, you are providing a fantastic resource for folks like me, who have just started out on this adventure, and would like to gather some of the old stuff. Thanks also for the tip on the EBay search.
Regards
