HO / Reading GP7
June 13, 2015, 12:04:35 PM
I am glad to see that Bachmann is going to produce the Reading GP7.  Which color scheme will the shell be painted?  From what I have seen in my Reading books,  and I hope,  it will be the olive green.   I would like Bachmann to consider offering this with dcc only.   Also,   since you have the F7 in your line,  the Reading F7s in the black with the green stripe would be a GREAT idea,  especially in eastern Pa.  Also consider offering your Alco FA and FB in the Reading scheme.

Good Evening All,

It has been quite some time since I posted a picture here.   Has something in the method changed?   Is there a different icon now?

On30 / On30 Center Cab diesel
October 08, 2014, 11:12:16 PM
Good Evening all,

I have tried to find a sound file or video of a Whitcomb diesel to listen to the prime mover sound.    There are a couple on YouTube but for me,  not very good.    Is there any way I can hear a sound sample of the sound decoder offered by Bachmann for this engine?

General Discussion / As in the On30 line....
July 22, 2014, 08:03:17 AM
Good Morning Mr. B,

Is there any chance that when an HO scale engine is produced,  extra parts such as pilot wheels,  tender loads,  stacks,  etc would be offered as in the On30 line?

HO / GP30

Hey Mr. B.....saws the Bachmann GP30 in the B&O scheme yesterday.   Any chance Bachmann would offer that engine in B&O with the "sun ray" scheme?

General Discussion / Scene Scape Trees - Mr B
March 28, 2013, 08:49:05 AM
Good Morning All,

Some time back I posted a thread here about trees.   I have lost track of the thread so I bring it up again.
Are the autumn trees,  Sycamore,  Elm,  etc discontinued?

Good Evening All,

In the 2013 Walthers cataloge,  from Bachmann,  Scene Scapes line,  there are autumn color trees in HO scale such as Elms,  Sycamores,  Aspens,  etc.   They are advertised as new yet they don't seem to be available.  Are they discontinued?   I certainly hope not as they are WONDERFUL trees.

On30 / On30 sawmill
January 29, 2013, 08:44:29 AM
Good Morning All,

I just checked out the photo albums and unless I missed them,  I could not find any pix of the On30 sawmil that was kitbashed using the O scale Plasticville covered bridge.   Is there anyway I can get pix of that structure including the interior?

Good Evening all,

November is national model railroad month.    Here in the east is a website,  www.modelrailroadopenhouse.com that will give you a schedule of open houses,  mostly in private homes.   It covers eastern Pa,  NJ,  De, and small sampling of Maryland.
When you get to the site,  a small block calender will appear.   Click on a date and you will find info on anyone who is open to the public as well as the size trains they run.
I am in the NE subs of Philadelphia,  in Hatboro, Pa.   I am open Nov 3&4 from 12-4pm showing HO,  HOn3,  and On30.  If you come to my place,  let me know that you are a fellow Bachmann Forum friend.

General Discussion / Sad News After 52 years
May 19, 2012, 10:07:35 PM
Good Evening all,

Sad news......after 52 years of tourist operations,  the East Broad Top Railroad will not be running any trains this year.   Nothing has been said about this meaning never again,  only this year of 2012.   Hopefully,  anyone with more info may tack onto what I have said here.   Very sad.

General Discussion / CV list
January 06, 2012, 07:43:40 PM
Good evening all,

Within the past two weeks,  someone posted a thread with a link to a page listing all the CVs in the new sound decoder in the Alco FA.   I have done a search,  but cannot find it.
If anyone remembers this thread,  could it be reposted?   Thanks.

General Discussion / New Product
December 09, 2011, 09:38:05 PM
Good Evening All,

Many times when we discuss new products we talk of rolling stock or engines.    I would like to offer up a different idea for Bachmann's consideration.
I recently bought one of the Bachmann track cleaning tank cars.   Unlike the Walthers' car there are no replacement pads.    I have been told that the pad is washable,  but that will not help when the pad starts to wear down.
Based on the way the pad is mounted to the bottom of the car,   I think it would be easy enough to offer up the pad assembly as a separate product.
The car is good as any track cleaning car I already own,  but in the $30.00 range,  unless pads become available,  I will have to reconsider purchasing any more of this cars.

General Discussion / Bachmann DCC question
October 27, 2011, 07:41:22 AM
Good Morning All,

Yesterday I was working at my local train store and got a call from a young lady who asked about the following question.   BTW....what I now share is her words and I have no other info.

"   I have a Bachmann dcc system and every time I throw a turnout the system turns off and on."   She did not say whether a train was going thru the turnout when it shut off.   Her words left to believe it was the throwing of the points that caused the on/off activity in the system.

      Has anyone experienced this before?

HO / New Caboose
July 15, 2011, 08:15:44 AM
Good Morning All,

I hope I am wrong about this.    I reviewed the announcement of new equipment in all scales,  especially the northeastern style cabooses in HO and N scale.   I am especially interested in the Reading model.
Here is where I hope I am wrong.   In all places where I have seen the news of the impending release of this caboose,  the version to be done is the Reading green and yellow version.   I have a friend who claims he read somewhere that the red version will be released also.   I hope he is correct and here is why.   Except for the recently released Athearn version,  loaded with mistakes including the very body they used(a MDC caboose),  the only other release of the red Reading caboose was the original release by Proto 2000 about 10-12 years ago.   Since that release,  Atlas,  Athearn,  and Proto have released the Reading green and yellow caboose at least two times and now we can add Bachmann to that list.   I guess it is my personal bias to the red caboose era,  but I just do not understand why any manufacturer would want to "beat a dead horse" again.
Thankfully a red undecorated caboose will be offered,  but have fun finding decals.   BTW.....from the pictures,  it looks like Bachmann's caboose will be a more accurate version than the Athearn model.
