On30 / CS/RGS 74

Ok There is a topic of people wanting a k-27 but MMi already has a k-27. I know i would get one to if bman made one. The question comes up Y does bachmann want to build an engine someone all ready makes?

Well i say to make people happy who model Colorado NG and everyone else who models logging and mining railroads and also not make the same engine they should do a new 2-8-0. I think the best engine to model would be the CS/RGS 74. Thats two Colorado road names taken care of right there but also like the 2-6-0 they can also put other road names on that fit other railroads. BLI no long makes the c-16 so there is no company that makes and inside frame 2-8-0, its a big power engine but also small enough to fit shot line logging railroads.

here is some background infomation on this locomotive

well then bachmann can make the correct versions of those engines and then also make the really old styles of the K-27s also.

and i think if they did the early k-27 i bet some kitbasher can have a great deal of fun doing stuff to it so it fits their railroad.

I say if backmann did a k-27 they should do the every early looking ones that way they are different then the MMI k-27. When the DRGW first had the k-27s built they look completely different. A lot of people do not realize they where built in 1903 and where then also rebuilt to what they look like now. some of the early ones had the oil headlights and slope back tenders. THen also then had regular tender.

that is a pic when they where first built as Vulcain compounds.

then they changed to Stephenson valve gear

then finally they got to be rebuilt to what we know today as a k-27 and the ones MMI models. I say Bachman should do and earlier model of the k-27s so it can be cheeper and also different then MMI

I got the pics and that from this site that explains a little more about the history of then engines http://www.ngtrains.com/Pages/PSC/MMI/K27_inboard/k27_history.htm

I also like the idea of the 2-8-0 that someone posted but also maybe make them also look like the real early 1880s 2-8-0s

On30 / Re: Possible ON30 Excursion Cars
July 23, 2008, 03:03:45 PM
well disneyland rr is 3ft but the 2 4-4-0s  they have are 5/8th scale so they look like they are running on standard gauge track. I know that quite a few people use the ho 4-4-0 to model the original locomotives disneyland had.

if they where going to make some excursion cars in on30 i agree that the one like the EBT would be the best option to do.

i do not mind that bachmann is making the new 4-4-0 is just wanted to say as long as they make a little bit for everyone i am happy. yes i probably will not get the new 4-4-0 but i might get an engine other people do not like.

I know bachman is one of the few companies that i know have a forum like this so they can hear what people want them to come out with.

maybe a lot of this forum was because the engine just appeared out of nowhere with out anyone know much background knowledge of it. Maybe (and bachman does not have to do this but it can help from causing post like this to show up) it might be good to let people know a little about what is coming out before hand just so they know they are not just going to make one kind of loco. Let them know that at least this is in the works but this is going to come out before they come out with that.

If i ******* anyone off i did not mean it. I just wanted my thought to be said about the new locomotive.

i agree with with Dusten.

i would rather see more models that come from north america then south america. instead of making the same kind of loco over just in a different way. i would rather see a verity of different locos.

I know you have those who want to model backwoods railroads with small locos that are made and use kitbashes

but there is also those who want to model main line narrow gauges lines like the DRGW  WP&Y and ET&WNC and maybe like the SR&RL. I know those are not 30in gauge railroads but on30 allows an easier way to model those with out spending a S**T load of money on brass models.

I say if Bachmann can do engines like the newer 4-4-0 but switch off with other engines that are bigger like a WP&Y 2-8-2 or an ET&WNC 4-6-0, then they can do a small backwoods engine againfor those modelers and then another bigger engines and so on and so on.

On30 / what do you model
June 11, 2008, 08:07:22 PM
I know some people model on30 to model 3ft gauge or also 2ft? while others just model 30inch gauge. Just wondering what people do what?

I model mostly Colorado 3ft gauge stuff in on30 but im also starting on a Main 2ft gauge switching layout.

N / 4-6-0
May 06, 2008, 07:02:55 PM
is there anyone that makes an N scale 4-6-0 or does the B-man have any plans for an n scale 4-6-0?
