Title: DCC trains and turnouts
Post by: deny on February 28, 2010, 09:25:10 PM
Is there any reason why I can not use DCC to run the locomotives , but use the ac side of the old dc controller to operate the turn outs?
Was going all DCC ,but with a half dozen turnouts,it just seems like too much for one controller.
  These are the  wired turnouts!

If you have standard turnouts you can use the AC from the accessory output on your old controller. But DCC turnouts can only be powered by a DCC system or you can do them manually, but you cannot use standard alternating current (AC) or DC for that matter.
