Title: opposite direction erratic
Post by: Crispy on January 25, 2009, 04:14:38 PM
I have a new USRA 0-6-0 that runs erratic as if though it has a miss. The front light blinks on and off also. However, when I run the engine in the other direction it operates fine. I would appericate any input.

Thanks,
Crispy

After proper break-in, if issue is still present, inspect and place a very small amount of lubrication on the worm gear.

its possible that a piece of wire from the light is interfering with the gear in one direction only causing it to blink and run poorly. Also follow Hunts advice to sparingly lubricate the gear after a proper break in time. Always use a plastic compatible lubricant. Never use things like WD-40, 3 tn 1 oil or Vaseline because they are not plastic compatible

Thanks, Hunt and pdlethbridge.

It is now working fine.
