Hey: can someone explain to me the difference in 36" wheel and 33". probaly here some wher, but cant find it. I want to change all of mine to metal wheels , everything is bachman.
33" is used in most cases, 36" is passenger cars and specialty and larger freight cars, there are also some other wheel sizes for some unusual freight cars.

I got out my calculator and the difference is 3". :)
I use Reboxx wheels or NWSL wheels. I measure the wheel length with a dial caliper and order the appropriate wheels. I use the Micro Mark truck tuner to make slight adjustments to the plastic truck.
Kadee wheels are Sintered Metal that can accumulate dirt. Do a Google search for Sintered Metal.
Use machined wheels that are solid metal. They will be a nice shiny finish unless they are weatherd.
