Could someone confirm whether or not the Bachmann hogwarts express comes with a tender car? I ordered one off of ebay and upon delivery I discovered there was no way to coupler on the back of the engine. Is there supposed to be a tender (would explain the lack of coupler)?
Yeah it should have a tender. The loco should only have a pin on the end.
Here is a photo of the HO scale model I have in my PC. It shows a pin at the front of the tender that fits up into the bottom of the loco if I see it correctly. Do not know if any other coupler versions where made.

Thanks for the information, I didn't have a whole lot of time to unpack the box before I had to go out of town so hopefully I just missed it (it came in a huge box filled with packing peanuts).
