Saved the video's for later today, when there is nothing on the TV worth turning it on ;D
What I did watch brought back memories of the trip. Looking forward to watching both part's.

Rode the Central Andino in 2000,  a Class 1,  with 20 some switchbacks, short train's 8 cars if I remember
no caboose, (just dead weight) more tunnel's and bridges then any model RR layout would ever have. At the
time most motive power was MLW (Alco) DL 535 ? both standard and narrow gauge on the H&H Rly, which has since
been rebuilt to standard gauge.

I had just finished, or so  I thought! relettering a D&RGW reefer  to the WP&Y Rly, will need to pull the roof and
paint the inside to reduce the see through effect. Hard to believe with a light behind it how much shines through.

  Thanks for the info

On30 / Re: Why is On30 Scale So Expensive?
February 27, 2020, 06:19:41 PM

Today at my LHS, I picked up 2 Bachmann box cars @ $20:00 Canadian and a San Juan Car Co Long Caboose @ $35:00 Canadian.
The various engines  2-8-0, 4-6-0, IF 4-4-0 and Goose priced at $150:00 Canadian, AMS Boxcars @ 25:00 Canadian.
US $ price would be roughly 2/3 of Canadian Dollar.

You just never know when I deal comes up, now to redecal the box car's and convert the caboose into a shorty for my Railway.

General Discussion / Re: Track level

  Terry

I use a T level gauge, has 2 level gauge's mounted at right angles for grade and level of the track.
I will admit the first set up I had for On2&1/2 I laid a stretch of track which dropped 3/16" on one rail to see
if it would work, yes it did, neat to see the train drop to one side then return to level as it traversed   this section of
track.

On30 / Re: 2-6-9 Oil tender conversion

  Larry

I converted a tender to oil a while back, by drilling holes in the coal load and using a Jeweller's saw cut out the load,
saving the mounting stub. The oil bunker was made up using "LEGO" block's, the corners were rounded and a riveted
styrene wrapper glued to the block. Later the tender was converted to a wood load for the Rotary Snow Plow I built
(X RGS #1) which served on the Kaslo & Slocan Rly.

  Very impressive build.

Remind's me of the trestle which allowed access to the plant that I worked at. length and height would be close to your
model, basic difference was that the trestle was curved crossing the valley.

My mistake with previous note, Baldwin built 195 2-6-2T's, no idea of Class though.
The ALCO 2-6-2T's were built for the British War Dept, the majority of light railways (80%)being operated by
the Canadian Light Railway Corps

Not sure why Bachmann has labeled them as Baldwin Class 10, as the 2-6-2T engines were built by ALCO at the Cooke Locomotive Works. Baldwin Class 10-12-D were 4-6-0T engines.  Bachmann Europe have done the Baldwin 10-12-D in OO9

The size difference is likely due to the car lengths, a 24 ft car  (1 per box), versus the 18 foot cars  (2 per box).
Both are 0n30 models.

Great video, have a few pieces of rolling stock based on La Trochita,  working on one of there Henchels 2-8-2,
would not mind if Bachmann modeled the Baldwin 2-8-2s for On30.

Looking from the front of the tie & rail laying train.
Ties are moved to the front on the left side of the train, rail is moved up the right side of the train.

That is one great piece of trestle work and scenery is also looking like it belong's there.
