Title: Late Porter vs Early Porter
Post by: bwreno on May 01, 2009, 09:18:55 PM
Hi,

How do I distinguish a late production Porter from an early production Porter?

(Not prototype, but Bachmann)

Is there a part number difference, or a physical difference that is visible?  Or box color?  Or????

(besides the added pickup brushes)

Thanx,     bob ???

Early Porter 0-4-0's have screws holding the side rods to the wheels, a plated bell and no builder's plate.   The later production models don't have screw heads on the side rod bolts,  have builder' s plates and painted bells.
