actually yes the 22 inch can run on one of my loops on a 4x8 but the problem is that i need it to switch tracks so it can pull the mountaneer express. and the there is the fact that not only do i have too many curves, my grandpa built the table with a wall and screws atattached in a way that in some places it elimanates more than 3 inches off the sides, oops! :)

sadly, bachman does not make these but you could try using dummys if your loco has power.

HO / Re: Spectrum DD40AX

I don't kut i have a spectrum now if this is the same bloody nose diesel with 6 wheels per truck. I belive it was one of the sd's and al 4 truck side fraes are gone from simply falling off two days after i bought it. i was heart broken considdering even though i only have 1 of its cupolars, no handrails and o horns, (Talk about bad luck!) i want to use it in a lash up. So my point is I don't think it is glued.

HO / Curves vs. switches
May 17, 2008, 08:39:18 AM
I have place on my layout where 2 s curves meet making a dip. I did this on both mainlines and yet the track does not seem perfectly even. What is the length of straight before a curve on a switch, I know THAT THERE IS A DIFFERENCE.

Does anyone know where i can get spectrum in only dc? I don't need the dcc as I am a big user of the dc block wireing system.

Thanks sadly i only have room for 18 inch on my 4x8 but really any steamer is good. I had heard the bachmann mountain could do it but i was worried about overhang.

I just bought one of the old athearn rdc-3 units and after much work i got the drive belts on. my problem is when I run it the bands gradually move turning the trucks and yanking the loco of the rails. does anyone no how to fix it.

HO / Loco on 18 inch radius
May 16, 2008, 05:03:19 PM
I need to get a mainline loco for my dc block wired layout i am building. I have 2 bachmann steamers as my main steam fleet, an 0-6-0 and a prarie. I am tired of that style, can anyone sugest a steam loco that will run alright on 18 inch radius curves and prefferably has 2 copolars, i like northerns, husons mikados pacifics and berkshires best. Please help.
