Title: my nickle silver track
Post by: nichbuhler16754 on July 20, 2013, 12:50:05 PM
Today I got another track pack from bachmann, I having electrical difficulties. I don't know why but when my engine goes on certain rails it starts to act jumpy, it will go fast then almost stop then go again. I have been keeping it clean and nice, I have even tried switching tracks around, nothing works. Could someone maybe help?

nb

I don't know how big your layout is getting or how you have it secured, but I will take a guess that it is big enough by now to fit on a 4x8 sheet of plywood if you don't have it there already.
Sounds like you are loosing track connection the more you pull the track apart you may be loosening the track joiners. When the loco stops or gets to the section that it is jerking try holding the pieces together this should give you an idea if its the joiners. You may have to consider gluing the track down more permanently.
You could also check it with a multi-meter.
Another issue could be your loco's wheels are dirty.
A little more info of your setup will help, but try that first.
