jerry-

The extensions are very expensive: more than $11 for a 10' wire. You can lengthen your cables much more cheaply if you do it yourself. Just cut a cable, strip the ends, splice in whatever length extension you need and hook it up. Be sure that the center wire connects straight through to the center wire on the other end; the two side wires don't matter because you can just turn the plug over to reverse the operation. You can solder your connections or use mechanical connectors like wire nuts or suitcase connectors. Twenty gauge wire is plenty big enough but you can use extension cord wire if you happen on a great price for, or free, extension cords.
