Title: Knuckles for IHC passenger?
Post by: jettrainfan on February 06, 2010, 06:05:47 PM
Well, went to the music box down at Olmsted falls and some Santa Fe coaches caught my eye, $15!! I looked on the internet and they usually sell for $17. I got even luckier, it was actually on sale for $12! so i paid $12.93 for it and contacted my sis to take me down later this week to pick up another one. I got the dinner and planning on getting the baggage, because that's what i need to complete my consist(6 coaches!)

Anyway, i want to know what is a good pair of knuckles for them? thx!

I had McHenry knuckle couplers on mine, but they aren't the greatest.

McHenry Couplers makes a coupler specifically for these IHC cars, unfortunately they are a talgo mount.  The biggest downside to them is the phantom uncoupling, where they will randomly uncouple.  But other than that, they are a good match, allso for the swinging of the trucks on tight radius curves.  Hope this helps.
