Title: Electrically operated switches
Post by: D. Chapman on February 20, 2010, 05:00:52 PM
I have an n scale layout using bachmann e-z track which has 6 electric switches.  For some reason only one of them is working from the switch electrically.  This one is located next to the terminal/rerailer track  The others operate manually but not electrically.  When tested with continuity tester I get no electricity on the side of the switch between the switch and the track, Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

you have an open circuit on the common side of the circuit. i am not sure how the bachmann system works, but i've wired enough switch motors of other makes. i'd look first for a break in the wire, or look for connections that aren't making contact. if all else fails, i'd try running another common wire for this side of the circuit and see if that helps.
