Title: Powering multiple turnouts on DCC
Post by: DJ Quimby on April 26, 2010, 06:24:59 PM
I have 5 tunouts in my layout. 4 Regular and 1 #4. I plan on getting the E Z Command and understand I cannot power turnouts from that unit. Can I power them with 2 DC cab controls?

Thanks to all in advance.

There is a unit from digitrax that will do that called the DS64. I use 3 to control my many turnouts. It can be used for snap switches or slow motion types

You can also use an old power pack or wall wart.  Your DC cab controls will almost certainly work at no additional cost to you.  There's a good chance you have something which will work, given the way wall warts seem to multiply.  Or get a used power pack from your LHS and use it for your turnouts and accessories.

The Powerpack Idea works Fine  Now that I have converted my layout to DCC I use the old DC PowerPacks for switching Lighting etc.
