Title: All things else being equal
Post by: SteamGene on May 24, 2010, 10:45:39 PM
Unless something else happens -and it may - I will have a short article published in the C&O Historical Society magazine in June.   That seems awful soon for something submitted yesterday!

SG -

Let me be the first to congratulate you.  There's something very rewarding about getting published.  I haven't written for the modeling press yet but I was published quite a lot in an earlier life and I never ceased to feel thrilled.  So Good For You!!

Yes, June is awfully fast, especially compared to the popular periodicals, professional journals and books, but perhaps they can go to press so fast because they have a highly specialized product and don't get 20 manuscripts a day.  In any case, I think it's kind of neat that they have such a short lead time.

Well done Gene! Where were you in '92 when I was writing my dissertation?

Your next assignment is to write a railroad-related fictional story...one those of us in the hobby would 'flock' to the bookstore to purchase. I envision something in the line of Frank Spearman or Harry Bedwell.

Continued success,
Ray
