Wow!..as an ex-vendor at model railroad shows, I would classify you as an astute shopper. Unfortunately these huge shows are just too far away from northeastern Alabama...more's the pity.

Great finds!

i have no idea what astute means, but I mostly go to shows to get Athearn/Roundhouse kits, AHM/Rivarossi things, Bachmann OOP Spectrum Engines, and of course parts! I only recently started getting new released at the show because my LHS decided not to inform me of some new released i had requested(about 10 items)

I also got a good buy a few years ago, a B&O 2-8-8-0 by Rivarossi EL-5. for $260, at the time i seen em on ebay go for over $350. the insert foam wasn't in that great condition, but as long as the engine ran i didnt give a darn. haha. I useally put it on 30 car freights when i do run her, but she looks so mighty just standing still. I also got a 2-8-8-2 N&W which was repainted into B&O, it was highly abused(gears in the towers were stripped) i gave it some TLC but the motor finally quit, she will be put on display on my layout somewhere until i can find and learn how to install a new motor.

No problem amigo.

Astute  adj: having or showing shrewdness and perspicacity also: crafty, wily

Before you ask...

Perspicacity adj: plain to the understanding

I had to look the last one up for my own knowledge.

Glad to help,
Ray

In this case, plain is a noun which means:

something that is free from artifice, ornament, or extraneous matter

So something that is plain to the understanding, is something pertinent to understanding the issue at hand.

For example, suppose someone posts a question regarding a problem he is having with a 4-4-0.  Bachmann makes at least three locomotives with that wheel arrangement and knowing which one the poster means is plain to the understanding of his problem.
