Title: Bachmann USRA 0-6-0

Does the USRA 0-6-0 still have the pancake-type motor or has it been improved with a can-style motor or improved in any other way?  I would like to know before I purchase one.

It has a can motor and no longer has a split chassis. Some are available with DCC.

You missed the thread right near yours about this loco. I even include the links to the loco diagrams.
Take time to read though all this page. There is a lot of info about Bachmann products.

I assume that we are talking about the 0-6-0 USRA Switcher with Tender and not about the 0-6-0T.

The diagrams for the 0-6-0 USRA Switcher show it as having a split frame, which is actually quite a good arrangement.  Fortunately, it does NOT have the defunct "pancake" motor.
