Title: Trucks for Old Timer Coaches
Post by: sharriso on October 08, 2010, 07:03:29 PM
Dear Bach-Man,

Couple questions about the trucks on the N-scale Old Timer coaches and combines in the Royal Blue or Prairie Flyer sets.

Do you know what real trucks they are based on?  Do they come without couplers or with short coupler pockets?  Can I order them from your parts store?

The passenger cars come with couplers already installed,  but I do not know if they are body or truck mounted.

Dear Sharriso,
The trucks are based on 19th Century trucks, by, I think, Jackson & Sharp. I believe the couplers are truck mounted.
Give the service department a call to check availability.
Have fun!

The ones on mine are truck mounted Rapido style couplers

Thanks.  I will call.  These trucks are well done.  The are very close to 5-foot 1860s and maybe 1850s passenger trucks.  I found some with a 13-foot wheelbase, but they are too long.
