Title: Bachmann E-Z Track
Post by: Michael T. on November 27, 2010, 04:52:06 PM
Does anyone know what the dimensions for the Bachmann E-Z track nails are? I am currently nailing down the track so I need to know what size nails to buy.

Dear MT,

I measured my old Atlas track nails at 1/2" long by .037" diameter.  If you add a 1/4" thick roadbed, that would put you out to 3/4" length.

Why drill holes in your track/roadbed, though?  Nails are a pain.

Just use a dab of hot-melt glue or RTV every 5" or so along the side of the roadbed.

There are some window caulks specially made for easy removal.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Joe Satnik

Good advice from Joe. I have friends who have used clear silicone caulking.  You can buy it in small tubes.  You do have to put some weight on the track until the silicon cures - one friend used books. Once cured it can be peeled off with no damage to the track.

Like the Staples commercial says: "Easy!"
