Title: Decoder type in new Bachmann GE 44 tonner
Post by: tomgschilling on December 22, 2010, 06:12:28 PM
Decoder Pro identifies the decoder in the new 44 tonner as a  generic EZ Command decoder with two possibilities: a 2 function decoder or a 4 function decoder.  Does anyone know which decoder is in the loco?  I'm afraid I know the answer.  I need the availability of a speed table and it looks like that only comes with the 4 function version (hope I'm wrong).  So, Murphy being the predictable gentleman that he always is, I'm sure the decoder is a two function.  Any help would be appreciated.       ....Tom

Sorry, no speed table, not even a Vmax or Vmid.

I just got one of these little jewels the week before Xmas. In the JMRI I selected the 4 function mode and I had it accept all of the program choices including speed table (from 5 up to 92 for a max) and dimming of the headlights. Also choice between 'silent drive' and 'precision glide control'. ;D
