Title: Spectrum 4-6-0 with 63 in. drivers
Post by: LHalstead on January 03, 2011, 10:50:18 AM
I have a couple of questions:

1. I am looking at this since my old brass USRA 2-8-2 Mikado is about to croak, and it just barely makes the tighter turns on my layout. i am assuming that this will be more benign in that regard. Any experience?

2. I like the appearance with the 63 in. drivers better than the similar loco with 52 in. drivers, but I need to check clearance. Does anyone know overall max height of the HO 4-6-0 with 63 in. drivers, please? Thanks!

For the brass loco, contact Dave at NWSL if you have a gear/motor issue.

Remove the flanges on the two sets of inside drivers if you cannot enlarge the curves on the layout.

With the engine is on the work bench the highest part is the stack. 2 3/8 inch  high.
It runs fine on 18in radius, i don't have anything smaller. The tender is much larger then the low boiler. The large drivers pull better than the small drivers also.
