Title: Bachmann 44915 decoder and Mars Light Operation
Post by: lenny644 on January 26, 2011, 12:23:34 PM
I just installed a Bachmann 44915 decoder on my Proto 2000 E7 DCC ready loco.  All the typical Bachmann two function decoder commands work, i.e. forward, reverse, headlight on/off and dim.  However, the Mars light does not oscillate any more as it did when running in the basic DC mode.
Is this because it is a Bachmann decoder?
What can I do?  I'm new to this and could use some help.  Thanks
Lenny

you will also have move a wire on the decoder plug for the mars to operate.

Beaware that the above link shows the same picture twice....somewhat confusing, but the words are correct.
By the way this does work!

What do you think about the TCS DP5?

I guess I wouldn't be able to program it with my Backmann EZ Command controller, not that I know how to do it anyway.

If it was programmed by someone else, would it then respond to my Backmann EZ Command controller, e.g. F10 (Lights on/off) and F1 (Lights dim/bright) and all the other standard commands?

If it would work with my Backmann EZ Command controller, would a hobby store program it for me?  Does it have to be connected to the loco to program it?

As you can tell, I have little experience with DCC.
