What is the stalling current for a prairie 262?

Your point about potential damage from the hold-down technique is a good one although it can probably be used safely most of the time. I suppose the problem is one never knows if there will be damage until after it happens.
What about just holding the wheels without taking the shell off? I suspect many modelers find shell removal to be challenging and fraught with the potential for damage if not done exactly correctly. Holding the wheels would seem to get around this without introducing much damage potential. Other than some stress on the gearing, which ought to be able to take it, it shouldn't be any different than holding the drive shaft.
