Title: Joining up E-Z Track
Post by: Millhouseqs on May 14, 2011, 02:26:28 AM
Hi all

Does anyone know, or is it possible to join E-Z track to firstly the Bachman non E-Z  N track or secondly to something which has flexi track in its range.

Any advice will be much appreciated

I have done that ending up with an ugly track system that I later replaced.  Yes, you can clip the E-Z track plastic roadbed clips, shim other brand track to level, and use standard N rail joiners.  E-Z track is taller than either Kato UniTrack or Atlas track with cork roadbed, so you have to raise the other brand track to E-Z track height.  My preference is uniform track.  If you want a simple figure 8, dog bone, or oval shaped layout, E-Z track is OK.   However if you want a custom design layout with passing sidings, I suggest trashing the E-Z track and using Atlas exclusively or Kato exclusively.  One thing for sure, don't overlook the N scale Bachmann building structures and trees since they add life and fun to your layout.
