Title: Problem with Drive shaft on rear truck of HO Climax Loco Model 82902
Post by: BruceB9 on June 26, 2011, 12:09:14 AM
I recently bought one of the above Climax locos which has a niggling problem. When handling the loco, I find the drive shaft feeding power to the rear truck often pulls apart. That is, part 00J02 pulls out of 0AK02. Has anybody else struck this problem?

I don't think this would happen if the two parts were a couple of milimeters longer.
Comments, please?

That isn't a big problem. You just have to hold it right and it should be fine. it has so much upward flex that it does that. and if you made it longer it wouldn't let it flex to its max the other.

this is a common problem on all types of geared locoa--also with Mallets--it's really fun trying to lift an O or LS 3-truck Shay or a 2-6-6-2--
