I am looking for a source for miniature boats to put in my HO layout, any suggestions?

Do a google search for ho scale boats ships. That usually works for me
l found a paddle wheeler boat that way. There are many different types of boats and ships.

wayles-

Several model railroad companies make boats. Check the Walthers catalog
for a selection. You can search online if you don't have a Walthers catalog handy.
Or, just find a really small marina. They sometimes have really small boats, too.

I have some boats made by Lesney, they are pretty close.

ACY-

I'm glad to learn that your boats get along so well. There's
nothing worse than squabbling boats. That just drives me
crazy.

I guess part of the answer lies in asking "what kind of boats"?  Rowboats, excursion boats, lake boats, ocean-going vessels?  HO rowboats have been available from a number of sources over the years.  For other, larger vessels, purusal of model ship sites would be in order.  Often these sites will note the scale reduction, such as 1:500, 1:1,200, etc.  You of course want to look for something in the 1:87 range.  It doesn't have to be exact - close enough counts in this case.
