Title: Caution when opening Climax
Post by: daveb on October 28, 2011, 04:16:10 AM
Yesterday I wanted to remove the cab from my Climax (Purchased new and never previously opened) to investigate adding firebox flicker. I removed the 2 screws holding the cab in place and gently began removing the cab only to have the boiler fall to the floor as none of the screws shown on the exploded diagram to secure it had ever been put in during manufacture, only the cab was holding it in place. I should perhaps have been more careful but had looked at the diagram before starting. Some damage has occurred and small parts lost, but I would just like to warn others in case mine is not the only one which has slipped through.

Dave.

Hi Dave,

Sorry to hear you had the problem, but thanks for posting the "heads" up for the rest of us. I hope any damage was slight and can be repaired satisfactorily.
