Title: Norris 4-2-0 Pegasus
Post by: jesccs on December 05, 2011, 10:55:05 AM
Dear friends,

I'm new with locos collections & hobbies. I recently got a Norroes 4-2-0 Pegasus, is very nice and i love it... i 'd like to improve my set and have two questions.
1. Can this model "smoke"? , i mean, is this model already for apply the liquid to produce smoke???
2. I saw a light accessory kit... can i improve my pegasus loco with this?

Thanks a lot for your help
Javier

As far as I know, based on the older one I have, the 4-2-0 does not smoke.
Probably because it is too small to carry an effective unit.

Not knowing what the light set in question is, I can't answer that one.

Ahh, okay, that light set is for putting inside of buildings.
The light bulb, socket, and cord as shown there will be as big as or even bigger than the little 4-2-0.

Just for fun, here is a photo of a real one of that type of loco. I'm not sure if it is original or a reproduction.

Another real one from actual period used with what one might call an "aftermarket accessory" diamond stack and cab, assuming it was built like Pegasus.

The Lafayette came first, both the prototype and the model. The Pegasus is just the Lafayette with a different name and paint job.

The prototype Lafayette was built by the B&O shops for the 1927 Fair of the Iron Horse.  It is a reproduction, not an original.  It has been run in the relatively recent past, but may now be out of flue time.

It's also a movie star. It played the "Yonah" in Disney's The Great Locomotive Chase.  ;D
