Title: boiler removal

is there anyone that has removed the boiler from a2-8-4 Berksire???

Yes, there are several of us.  Would you like to know how? :D  As I recall, it's pretty straight forward.  Carefully pull the tender plugs and remove the screw under the cab, lift and push forward.

The real trick is puting the shell back on after you've filled it full of lead.

I agree, you must be very carefull to remember that you must remove that screw under the cab that connects the drawbar to the tender.  That screw goes up through the frame and connects to the body casting.
I forgot that once, and broke the plastic extension that connects the cab/boiler to the frame.   It's not catastrophic, but you will always have to use a needle nose pliers to take it apart or put it back in the future.  Connie still run nice, just don't pick it up, frame falls out from the boiler.
