Do DCC equipped engines work with regular DC? Seems like a very relevant question, but I can't find any info on it here.

I don't think you looked very hard. That has been discussed a lot here.
Bachmann locos do as does some other brands. The decoders will be called dual mode.
If you buy from a private sale or ebay, some people disable that function because there can be run a way issues when running them on DCC.

Well, actually, I spent almost an hour looking for the info, and then another hour just trying to find out how to simply post the question. (My life doesn't revolve around computers) Seems like it should be basic info with the item listing, or at the very least one of the FAQs in the DCC section.
