Title: Problem with my Bachmann Rail Boss HO train set
Post by: Foodybat on December 17, 2011, 04:27:46 PM
For some reason now my speed control doesn't make the train go any faster & ther directional switch has no effect at all.   The headlight is very dim, & the train moves very slow.

I've check the track carefully, & there is nothing obstructing it.

The engine appears fine.

We've only had this set about 10 days or so...

I can't figure out what's wrong...

Any & all help & suggestions are most appreciated!

do you still have the instruction manual? if so, check it. I have the same problems with my HO Pacific Flyer set, the train won't go at full speed forwards, but will go fast backwards. so, check the manual if you have it. you can also take the train apart and look at it

batty-

You may have a faulty controller. Check it with a multimeter and make sure you are getting the correct power to the track.

to add to what jerry said, the correct voltage to the track is around 12 volts. the polarity should change when you operate the reverse switch.
