Santa brought his first ho gauge train to our house this year. We have several o gauge and are planning to expand our layout. After setting up the boxed layout the engine only moves well in one direction ... When the direction selector is pointing left. Regardless of the direction of the engine (forward or reverse) when the arrow selector is in the right position the engine barley moves at all. Is this an equipment issue or is it an operator (human) error?
since you have tried turning the engine around, and it will run in reverse when the direction switch is to the left, the problem is probably in the direction contro; switch itself. i'd contact the manufacturer and have it replaced under warranty.
How about telling us what brand/model of loco and what brand/model of controller. You are giving us very little in the way of details.
