Title: Mr B. - Reversing Track Question
Post by: Pops on January 25, 2012, 01:54:13 PM
Mr. Bach-Man:
I'm interested in the reversing track set, but have a few questions.

1. The set is listed as having some non-reversing straight sections.  Don't you need all reversing track?  To expand the length do you have to use reversing track or can regular EZ track be used?

2.  Can a basic power supply, like the one that comes with the deWitt Clinton set, be used?  Or do you need a special power supply?

3.  I've only seen trolley cars used.  Is a special car needed?  Or can the gandy dancer unit be used?

Thanks  ??? ::) ???

Dear Pops,
The answers are as follows:
1) You can use regular track sections in the route, but you'll have to solder wires between the reversing sections.
2) No, there is a speed control for the set.\
3) Ant motorized unit may be used.
Have fun!

Thanks for the quick reply.

When you solder wires "between the reversing sections"  is that between each reversing section to each other or between all the reversing sections and the non-reversing sections?

Also what do you solder from and to?

sorry for the basic questions - it's tough to be a newbie.   ::) :-\

Dear Pops,
When you turn the sections over, you'll see that each one has two contacts at each end.  If you leave out intermediate sections, run a wire between the contacts of the last section at each end.
Have fun!
