Is anyone aware of a site to hear the new sound system?

Not sure what you mean about new sound system. All Bachmann 'sounds' come from Soundtraxx/Tsunami. You can go to the Soundtraxx website and hear samples of their various sounds.
For instance, the various whistles available for small, medium and large steam are all available in small clips to listen to.

I have also surfed youtube, and listened to other folks' bachmann locomotives to get an idea of what they sound like. A number of kind folks have posted short videos of their locomotives in action.
