The paperwork that came with this engine is confusing do I need to cut the DCC board and solder wires or s it ready to go DCC as is? Please answer soon I won't run this until I am sure it won't harm it to run. Thanks
It will run on DC as is. You have the option of removing the decoder from the lightboard because some pulse power controlers will mess with the dual mode decoder and cause it to act strange on DC. For 99% of the people out there, just set it on the rails and have fun. Removing the stock decoder by cutting the board also gives you the option of installing a better decoder.
