Title: looking for tender
Post by: botangles on April 09, 2012, 01:11:15 PM
Mr. Bachmann, do you have or where could I buy an HO scale tender DCC ready for a Spectrum 4-6-0 Steam engine. Preferably unlettered but any road name is OK too. Thanks.

bo-

There's a Bachmann medium tender on ebay, undec, I think.
It shouldn't be any problem to install DCC in it.

It may not be obvious but I doubt the Bach Man will be able to search the Internet for you. There are different types of Bachmann medium tenders.
You will get many results if you do an Internet search for bachmann ho medium tender.
As was said, there are some on ebay. Be advised, I bought a USRA Medium Tender a couple years ago for a Spectrum 4-6-0 and the PC board is DCC ready but no resistor for a LED. There was a 220 ohm resistor to dim the headlight bulb, not an LED, in reverse. Plus all six wires where swapped with each other when using the two pin and four pin adapters to connect the loco and tender. Had to rewire and add a 1 k resistor. This might not be an issue for you if no DCC required.

There are three different tenders for the 4-6-0 as far as I know. This may have been changed. For the low driver version, the tender is a little smaller than the tender for the high driver 4-6-0.
