You can make them using 1/16th Braising rod [ Brass Rod] available from most Hardware stores ,for about $2 per length.

Hand rails show up on the e place from time to time from several manufacturer's and Ozark Miniatures sells them in several sizes....an old brass cloths hanger would work as well, even for braising....Hope this helps.... Later All......S.B.

Hi:

USA Trains #R2070 are like Bachmann, LGB etc. They sell for $3.50 to$4.50.

You wrote ". . . g scale . . ." so I'm not certain what scale you are actually working in. Here is a link to the ones from Phils Narrow Gauge that I use:

http://www.philsnarrowgauge.com/Parts.html (http://www.philsnarrowgauge.com/Parts.html)

Be certain to scroll all the way down the parts page: Phil has lots of 1:20 scale parts for scratch building, as well as complete kits for some unique cars, etc.

Happy RRing,

Jerry

the current issue of Garden Railways has an articlle on making a jig to make stirrup steps--following that, you might be able to make another  to make grab irons.  gj
