Title: K27
Post by: ironlake on June 08, 2012, 11:10:31 PM
What kind of smoke fluid do you use in the k27 and how much do you put in.  Do you just drop it in the stack.  There are no instructions about it in the manuel.

Try about 10 drops, (any brand will do) into the stack, no need to remove it.  Expect to be disappointed.  I have not yet seen a smoke generator that got me excited about how great the smoke output is, or one that didn't end up making a mess.

Enjoy!

There is a reason why they have poor smoke.
The fan is mounted upside down and sucks the air down.
If you turn the fan over, (not an easy job), or even simply disconnect it you will be well satisfied doing so.
Disconnected, the smoke output is definitely better.  With the fan reversed I would describe it as copious.

The owners of most of the dozen or so K-27's that I have seen, did not want smoke, so I haven't had to  bother.  However, if the loco is track powered I would do it.
