After about 5 hours of run time my Lilly Belle 4-4-0 started to lose power and run slower and slower in the forward direction. It runs like new in reverse. Bench tests show this is happening in the motor. Does anyone have more information on this wear issue?
Did you disconnect the drive shaft while it was on the work bench?
