Title: Installing decoder in acela
Post by: Billm10454 on October 01, 2012, 02:52:53 PM
I bought a Bachman Acela about five years ago and want to put in a decoder. Is the Acela DCC ready? If so is there a plug to plug in a decoder or does it have to be hardwired?

Take a few minutes to look at the loco diagram. All the instructions are there. I just looked.

I've had the shell off mine, and it is DCC ready (with receptacle). I received mine about 5 years ago as well.

I bought a NCE D14SR and it works great. My Acela must be an older one because the pcb was a rev. A with a date of 08/04/01.
