Title: Spectrum 0-6-0 Tank Switcher
Post by: mrhomerun on August 05, 2007, 05:56:52 PM
Have two identical 0-6-0t switchers.  One runs great, the other runs for awhile then just stops as if no power, move it a little it might start again.  Most of the time it has to be taken off the track and retested on my test track.  Have cleaned, lubed, and oiled per directions.  Still keeps doing it.  Runs ok for a time then starts it all over.  Your thoughts please....

Are you sure these are Bachmann Spectrum engines? I 'm not aware of a Bachmann 0-6-0T .
There are a number of 0-6-0s with tenders but those are in the standard line.

Generally its a good runner, but if the tabs that wipe the driver backs are loose or not aligned properly, the operation will suffer. flip the engine and check the wipers rubbing the drivers. The axles have a lot of side to side movement and they may pull away from the wipers. Gently bend the wipers against the drivers trying to keep the lateral play in the drivers. It solved the problem I had with inconsistent running.
