Title: Bachmann magnet
Post by: bill collins on October 29, 2012, 12:53:36 AM
I installed a Bachmann magnet under my ex track, but it doesn't uncouple the cars very well. Usually not at all. The cars are all from the Bachmann Silver Series. Any htips would be appreciated.

do you have a kadee coupler gauge?  sometimes the pins are too high.  I am assuming you are using Kadee clones?  I've had problems with them even using Kadee magnets.  Might also  use a little graphite powder in the knuckle.  shimming up the magnet may also help.    Phil

get yourself a kadee coupler height guage, and a pair of tfip pin pliers. adjust all your trip pins to specs and things should work better.
