Title: New to the Railroad game
Post by: man1272 on November 05, 2012, 01:24:52 PM
Good day all

I have been dabbling with HO trains for sometime now.  I have decided to get serious about.  I would like to know if there is a book out there that explains the EZ track system. I would like to go DCC and a book on the subject would help me greatly.  Thanks in advance for any help.

Well, for a track planning book, there is this:

Location: /HO Scale/E-Z Track®/E-Z Track® Accessories (//http://Location:%20/HO%20Scale/E-Z%20Track%C2%AE/E-Z%20Track%C2%AE%20Accessories)

There are plenty of books out there but I have found just as much info on the net.
Here is a couple to help get started.

While not a book, this is an excellent website to use as a reference source: http://www.wiringfordcc.com/ (http://www.wiringfordcc.com/)

Welcome aboard,

Good day! It's great to hear that you're getting serious about HO trains—it's a rewarding and creative hobby. For learning the EZ Track system and diving into Digital Command Control (DCC), I recommend the book "DCC Guide: How to Select and Use Your Command Control System" by Don Fiehmann. It provides an excellent introduction to DCC, covering how to set up, program, and operate your system effectively. Additionally, the Bachmann EZ Command System manual is a helpful resource for understanding the basics of EZ Track and its integration with DCC.

As a fun complement, consider exploring 3D train simulation games like Trainz Railroad Simulator or Railroad Tycoon. These games (https://mars.bermudaunicorn.com/) let you design and operate virtual railroads, offering inspiration and creative ideas that can translate into your HO train layouts. Happy railroading!
