Title: volume on 4-6-0 Mogul
Post by: peterjb on December 10, 2012, 08:56:24 PM
I recently got a V & T 4-6-0 Mogul, which I am very pleased with, except that the sound is barely audible.  I have a new 9V alkaline batter in the tender, and the speaker swith is down (on) on the back of the cab.  Any suggestions?

First off, the 4-6-0 is a ten wheeler. A mogul is a 2-6-0.

Some tenders have a volume control on the bottom of the tender. If yours does, rotate it clockwise for maximum sound.

Re: "Under the Whyte notation for the classification of steam locomotives, 2-6-0 represents the wheel arrangement of two leading wheels on one axle, usually in a leading truck, six powered and coupled driving wheels on three axles, and no trailing wheels. This arrangement is commonly called a Mogul"
