I bought a used bachman gp30 that has a four digit address. I know the engine works and I'm using the bachmann ez command system, but I'm unable to get the engine to respond or even reprogram it to a two digit address. Does anyone know how to reprogram it?

I had the same issue.
First remove all loco's from track, then start the programming feature and when you get to the point where the light starts blinking for programming put the loco back on the track at this time and select the address you wish. Finish up programming following the manual.(I believe all you do is hit stop).
