Dear everyone on the forum,
  ??? I need some advice and help on how to build a layout. Could anyone give me some helpful hints or ideas you may have to help me? I would really appreciate it.

A basic start would be to watch this:

Watch all the parts and it will give you a good idea and a good start in knowledge on layouts.

go to you tube and type in how to build a layout from start to finish its a really good series to learn

Well one tip is using woodland scenics plaster cloth for hills and mountains. Another is dont rush half the fun is building it.

the best thing to do is to start with an established track plan, such as those found in the atlas layout plan books, or the Bachmann one. add or modify this plan to suit your needs. with the layout software such as scarm or anyrail, you can make modifications on computer and be sure it will work in real life.
