I am planning on purchasing a Steam Baldwin 2-8-0 Sante Fe #2511 for my grandson's birthday. Spec's state it will run on DC and DCC. My grandson's layout is DC powered. I am wondering how this unit will run on DC, ie: any problems with speed control, etc.
Any help much appreciated.

From what I have read, if you are going to run all the time on DC, unplug the decoder and plug in the dummy plug. That way it will run better on DC.
