Title: Older 4-8-4 dcc with sound install

Has any one installed a DCC with sound decoder in a Bachman Overland 4-8-4 union Pacific?
this a older engine but looks and runs very nice and i would like to install dcc with sound, any pics or derections would be very helpful.

how older is it  1990s or new?

IF I HAD TO GUESS I WOULD SAY 1990 OR OLDER, IS THERE A WAY TO TELL?

You do not have to yell or you forgot the caps lock is on.

If there are six wires and two connectors between the loco and tender it should not be a problem. Look at the present 4-8-4 with sound. I am assuming you have DCC install experience.

This is the diagram of the 1990 Overland 4-8-4 from HOseeker.net..

Looks like it had traction tires and smoke unit. Take note of the motor in richg's post (newer model) and the motor in HOseekers diagram (older model).

Nice project. I saved the page.Good find Those are inductors in the link, not resistors. With the caps out, the inductors are not an issue. Some do remove them.
